Netherlands stun South Africa by 38 runs in World Cup upset || Highlights


Dharamsala, India - The Netherlands pulled off a stunning 38-run victory over South Africa in the ICC Cricket World Cup on Tuesday, with Scott Edwards leading the way with a brilliant 68-ball 79.

Batting first, the Netherlands were reduced to 112 for 6 at one point, but Edwards and Tim Pringle (53) put on a 133-run partnership to steer the team to a competitive total of 245 for 8.

In reply, South Africa got off to a poor start, losing skipper Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock early. The Proteas never really recovered, and were eventually bowled out for 207 in 49.3 overs.

Edwards was the star of the show for the Netherlands with the ball, taking 3 for 38. He was ably supported by Pringle (2 for 32) and Bas de Leede (2 for 34).

The victory was a major upset for South Africa, who are one of the favorites to win the World Cup. The Netherlands, on the other hand, have now won two of their first three matches, and are in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stages.
