Jailed to Iran after walking from Spain to watch the World Cup/Encarcelado en Irán después de caminar desde España para ver la Copa del Mundo

His addiction is to walking mile after mile. Go to nature whenever you get a chance. Sometimes in the mountains, sometimes in the forest. Santiago Sanchez was so addicted to this, he walked from Spain to Qatar! What is the goal? Watching the FIFA World Cup

But there are obstacles on the way. Santiago Sanchez was arrested and sent to prison by the Iranian administration because he did not have a visa. According to an Iranian television channel, Santiago, a Spanish citizen, was arrested on October 2 in the border town of Kurdistan Province. He was accompanied by a translator. The two were then taken to a prison in the capital, Tehran. They are there now.

News of Santiago's trip to Qatar spread across Spain earlier in the year. All the best wishes to this die-hard fan of Real Madrid. During the 6,800 km long journey, he always shared the latest location information on Instagram. I uploaded several videos and pictures. In the last message, he wrote, "Here (in Iran) the heat is a little high." But I'm fine.

The 41-year-old Santiago arrived in Kurdistan, a province bordering Iran, on October 2. He had the last contact with his family that day. Missing since then Santiago's parents filed a missing person report on October 17, unable to locate him. The ambassador of Spain, appointed in Tehran, came forward. It was through his intervention that Santiago was found.

Celia Cogedor, Santiago's mother, said, "The first few days we were not worried. But after 8–9 days when my daughter and her close friends could not be found, I decided to file a missing report.

The Messi-Neymar-Mbappe trio is not enough. Ibrahim needs the French league!

Santiago's friend Miguel thinks that his friend was arrested because of the ongoing anti-hijab protests in Iran and wants to keep him until the situation normalizes. They (the Iranian government) don't want outsiders to know the inside story.

Santiago wanted to give an interview about his experience on a Tehran-based TV channel upon reaching Iran. Then go to Bandar Abbas and cross the Persian Gulf by boat to enter Qatar. Through this, his adventurous journey would come to a successful end.

The Qatar World Cup starts on November 20. Can Santiago be released from captivity before this?
