Liton and Lahiru are being fined for arguing on the field

Bangladesh opener Liton Das and Sri Lankan fast bowler Lahiru Kumar were punished for not playing on the field.

Lahiru was given a demerit point with a 25 percent match fee fine. Liton's match fee has been reduced by 15 percent to one demerit point.
The ICC said in a press release today.

After dismissing Liton in the Bangladesh-Sri Lanka match in Sharjah on Sunday, Lahiru got into an argument with him. However, a quarrel broke out between the two from Lahiru.
After taking Liton's wicket in the sixth over of the innings, Lahiru rushed towards him and said something. Liton was also responding to Lahiru in an aggressive manner.
Later, another opener of Bangladesh Mohammad Naeem, and umpires came and handled the situation. The two have been fined for violating Section 1 of the Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. One demerit point has been added next to the names of the two with the fine.
The minimum penalty for violating this section is a formal reprimand and the maximum penalty is one or two demerit points with a 50 percent fine of match fee. However, Sri Lankan fast bowler Lahiru is being punished more than Liton for starting a brawl.
